Solar PV Enhancement
Solar photovoltaic (solar PV) panels are an extremely popular form of renewable energy generation, literally converting sunshine into electricity.
And with falling costs, it is no surprise that the uptake of solar PV is growing at more than 100% per year.
For example, it is quite common to see solar PV panels on houses and barns in Germany. Many Governments (including Australia) are providing incentives for consumers to install solar PV systems on their house. Plus of course, solar PV is highly attractive for remote area power systems (RAPS) for customers located away from access to the electricity grid
However, solar generation is intermittent - it only works in daylight. Bad weather and night-time renders it useless.
The answer lies in enhancing solar PV systems with kilowatt scale battery storage - such as RedFlow's Power+BOS® and Grid+BOS® zinc bromine battery systems. This means that solar generated energy is available at night and during cloudy days - greatly extending the usefulness of solar PV systems.
