Environmental Benefits
Among the many advantages of the zinc bromine battery, its environmental credentials rank highly.
In wide-scale application within electricity grids, RedFlow's ZB battery can make utility networks more efficient by reducing transmission losses and replacing or deferring the need for high cost and only partly utilised traditional network infrastructure to deal with peak electricity demand.
When used with Photo Voltaic (PV) Solar panels, ZB batteries make this source of renewable energy much more valuable to utilities as it matches the availability of solar energy with the utility demand. This improves the economic case for further replacement of fossil fuel fired generation with clean, renewable solar energy.
