Phil Hutchings Chairman
Phil Hutchings Phil Hutchings is Chairman of RedFlow. Phil has a strong background in corporate finance and energy, especially with young companies. He has guided development of geothermal energy projects in Australia and Germany since 2000. His former career includes thirteen years in corporate finance, including as director of a national stockbroking firm. He has a wide background in the Australian mining industry and extensive international experience. He holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma of Business Administration.
Chris Winter Chief Executive Officer
Chris Winter Chris Winter is CEO of RedFlow. He has been the driving force behind the development of the patented zinc bromine flow battery. Chris had a successful career as a petroleum engineer with companies such as  Schlumberger and Wintershall AG. He has extensive international business experience having lived and worked in Germany, Oman and Venezuela. Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering.
Dr Alex Winter Chief Technology Officer
Alex Winter Alex Winter is Chief Technology Officer for RedFlow. Leading up to the founding of RedFlow, Alex spent some 7 years working on research and development of flowing electrolyte batteries using his expertise in fluid dynamics and mechanical design. Alex has significant international experience having lived and worked in Austria, and Argentina in various consulting, managerial and engineering roles. Alex holds a Bachelor of Engineering with first class honours and a Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
Iain Smith Group Services Manager
Iain Smith Iain has over twenty years of managerial experience in commercial finance, banking and government. He ran the Queensland Government's Innovation Start-Up Scheme - a grant program for high-tech start-ups. He was also heavily involved in the management of the State Government's venture capital operation - TeQStart. He joined RedFlow soon after it was founded to assist in growing the business to the next stage. Iain holds a Bachelor of Science with honours, and has undertaken postgraduate study and research at Osaka University of Foreign Studies and Kagoshima National University.
Ian Schirmer Senior Mechatronics Engineer
Ian Schirmer Ian is a knowledgeable electronics engineer with over twenty-five years of power electronics, process engineering, electrical communications, data processing, mechanical engineering and electro-mechanical design experience. He is a prolific inventor and has created solutions to complex problems for many well-known companies. He joined RedFlow  in May 2008 and heads a team of engineers designing and building the systems control and communications architecture of the next generation of energy storage solutions for renewable energy and grid-support applications. Ian holds a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering with Honours.
Richard Aird Group Project Manager
Richard Aird Richard is a professional project manager with over twenty years practical experience in construction and rural industries. He brings a wealth of business experience to RedFlow and the board.  Richard has first-hand and detailed knowledge of customer needs and requirements for off-grid electricity generating and storage systems in remote areas.
Gary Jubb National Sales Manager
Gary Jubb Gary has over thirty years experience in the electricity industry. For the past ten years, he has held management and sales management positions in the solar PV distribution sector in Australia and New Zealand.

Gary joined RedFlow in January 2010 to grow the direct sales of Grid+BOS and Power+BOS product into the SAPS sectors. His prior role was as State Manager for a national renewable energy products distributor.

Gary is married and resides in Brisbane.
CHRISTOPHER FREITAS Business Development, North America
Christopher Freitas Christopher Freitas joined RedFlow in December 2009 to manage Business Development in North America for RedFlow. He is a contractor to RedFlow, and is working to establish trial sales of zinc-bromine based systems in the US during 2010.

Christopher was a co-founder/co-owner of OutBack Power Systems, a leading U.S. manufacturer of solar power electronic components. He held the role of Director of Research and Development at OutBack Power. Christopher installed his fi rst PV system in 1986 and has worked continuously since then in the solar industry developing products, providing training and overseeing projects in the US and internationally.

Christopher holds a bachelor degree in Environmental Studies and Planning and a certificate in Energy Management and Design.

He resides near Seattle in the USA.
