  Zinc-Bromine Flowing Electrolyte Battery

RedFlow’s core product is the zinc-bromine flowing electrolyte battery module (ZBM). The Generation 2.0 ZBM delivers 10kWh of energy with a peak power rating of 5kW.

Almost entirely made out of plastics and with a footprint of 800mm x 400mm (and 800mm high), it weighs 220kg, a fraction of the mass of comparable lead-acid batteries. It is designed for day-in day-out deep cycling with three to eight hour charge and discharge times and is the ideal building block for grid scale electricity storage systems.

RedFlow M-class prototype showcased with Australia’s largest rooftop PV array

The University of Queensland in Brisbane has a 1.22 MW PV array, the largest of its kind in Australia. RedFlow’s M-class prototype is being demonstrated there.

RedFlow’s new megawatt storage product

The M-class is RedFlow’s new megawatt scale electricity storage product. The RedFlow M120, due for commercial release in 2012, is a 120 kVA, 240 kWH grid-connected energy storage system designed to store off-peak electricity for time shifting as well as network stabilization.

It’s time for a smarter grid

Jiles Parkinson, journalist for Climate Speculator discusses the imminent problems faced by electricity suppliers and the necessity for a smarter grid.
